Our school’s vision ‘Every child, every day learning and achieving’ recognises the correlation between attendance and achievement. Whilst some student absence is unavoidable, for example illness, our goal is for every student to attend 90% of the approximate 200 school days each year. Our strong focus on attendance recognises that poor school attendance can be linked to a number of related short and long-term adverse outcomes for students including lower academic outcomes, early school leaving, substance use, poverty, unemployment and negative health outcomes.
Mabel Park State School has worked to developed a shared language of values. We recognise that values are the basis for law, customs and care for others in our society. Values shape attitudes to the changing circumstances, events and issues encountered in daily life.
The Mabel Park State School values are:
Trust
Courage, and
Respect
